Priorities projects Arizona's 2009 budget deficit
to be the largest in the U.S. as a percentage of
the overall budget. |
| Arizona's fiscal year 2009 budget deficit, estimated
to be $1.7 billion, is 16.2% of the overall budget.
As a percentage of the budget, Arizona has the largest
deficit in the country. California's $16 billion
deficit is 15.4% if its budget. |
| Combined with the current year deficit of $1.2
billion, Arizona's $3 billion budget problem is
staggering. |
